Jeffrey R. Ruland, M.D., is a fellowship trained foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon at the Anne Arundel Orthopaedic Surgeons Division in Annapolis, Bowie, and Glen Burnie, Maryland. Dr. Ruland earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he was named Chief Resident of the Year upon graduating. He then completed fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. During his fellowship, he trained under two former presidents of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and gained extensive experience across all areas of foot and ankle surgery, including total ankle arthroplasty, complex reconstruction, sports injuries and fractures, and minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Ruland also will be serving as the team physician for the Maryland Rush Aspire youth soccer team. He sees patients of all ages and also treats general orthopaedic conditions and fractures. He is excited to be joining Anne Arundel Orthopaedic Surgeons and looks forward to helping patients get back to their activities through an individualized approach.
